Position Summary
The Creative Director will be an equal parts maker and strategist. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be in the weeds designing banners and emails one hour, and presenting a brand campaign or partnership concept the next. You'll manage a designer and outside partners, plus collaborate closely with a creative copywriter to bring ideas to life across every channel we touch.
This role sits at the intersection of brand, performance, and product — which means you'll need to be comfortable moving fast, thinking big, and making great work at scale.
Reporting to the VP, Head of Creative, you will work cross-functionally across acquisition marketing, member marketing, ecommerce, retail (online and in-store) and social media.
Responsibilities
- Support creative strategy and execution across acquisition, member marketing, social, product, ecommerce, and brand — ensuring cohesive, on-brand storytelling at every touchpoint
- Support ecommerce creative, including Amazon, DTC, and retail channels, with a focus on consistency
- Partner closely with a creative copywriter and designer to develop integrated concepts and campaigns
- Own day-to-day brand management and stewardship, including the development and maintenance of brand guidelines and design systems
- Drive partnership and collaboration creative, from initial concepts through final execution
- Build and oversee performance marketing creative across paid media, email, SMS, affiliate, and social — balancing brand integrity with conversion goals
- Develop and maintain a high-volume creative cadence across all channels: product launches, new colors, promotions, experiments, and more
- Review and provide direction on scripts, articles, video content, and influencer and third-party creative
- Guide and review work from external agencies, freelancers, and content creators, maintaining brand consistency across all partners
Strategy & Leadership
- Strong understanding of brand strategy and the ability to translate it into cohesive, visually impactful work
- Proven ability to manage and mentor designers while remaining actively involved in the creative work
- Comfortable managing high volume and fast turnaround without sacrificing quality or brand integrity
- Strategic thinker who can connect creative decisions to business goals and clearly articulate the "why" behind creative choices
- Ability to present and sell creative ideas confidently to stakeholders at all levels
Tools & Technology
- Hands-on-design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Notion, or similar)
- Leverage AI tools, including Claude and generative design tools to scale content production and streamline workflows without sacrificing quality
- Familiarity with digital marketing formats across paid media, email, social, ecommerce, and video
Nice to have
- Experience with influencer or UGC creative direction
- Familiarity with Amazon creative requirements and best practices
- Background in or exposure to TV/video production
- Experience building or maintaining brand systems and design documentation
Requirements
- 7+ years of creative experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead creative role
- A strong portfolio spanning brand, performance, and product creative — digital-first with retail and ecommerce experience a plus
- Proven ability to manage and mentor designers while staying actively involved in the work
- Experience collaborating with copywriters and cross-functional partners (acquisition, product, ecomm, marketing)
- Strategic thinker who can connect creative decisions to business outcomes
- Able to work effectively individually and in a team environment
- Able to interact effectively with different levels of the organization
- A collaborative spirit — you make the people around you better and bring out the best in a team
- Comfortable with high volume and fast turnaround without losing quality or brand integrity
- Experience in DTC, consumer products, or pet/lifestyle brands is a strong plus

We provide competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base salary, incentives, and benefits. Final compensation is dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications.
