Manager, Data Analytics
Title: Manager, Data Analytics
Reports To: Director, Data Analytics
Location: Officially headquartered in the metro NY/NJ area, the Halo Team works remotely across the U.S. and worldwide.
Company Overview: Designed by leaders in GPS, tracking, containment, safety technologies, and dog behavior, Halo was founded in 2018 and has become the first all-in-one dog safety solution to completely revolutionize our industry in over 30 years. With our multi-year lead over the competition, patented technologies, and unique industry expertise, we are pursuing the objective of becoming the world’s first “smart phone” for dogs. At Halo, everyone is a partner who shares in our mission. We are all working together to make this concept of all-in-one safety technology into a reality for all dogs.
Position Summary: Halo is looking for a versatile analytics manager who can grow with us. You'll move fluidly across domains — one week you might be deep in mobile product funnel analysis, the next you're untangling operations or logistics data. You'll be a go-to partner for stakeholders across the business, turning complex data into clear, actionable insights.
This role is individual contributor to start, but we're looking for someone who's managed or mentored before (or is ready to) — as the team grows, so could the scope.
Responsibilities:
- Own reporting and dashboards across multiple business functions — product, operations, logistics, and more — ensuring decision-makers have timely, reliable visibility into performance.
- Build and maintain clean, well-documented analyses that are trustworthy, reusable, and accessible to stakeholders across the org.
- Report regularly on key metrics and surface actionable insights to leadership, translating data into narratives that drive decisions at every level.
- Partner directly with stakeholders to answer hard questions, not just fulfill requests — proactively identifying opportunities and risks buried in the data.
- Translate business objectives into analytical frameworks that support measurable outcomes across retention, growth, and operations.
- Help define how we measure things — owning metric frameworks, definitions, and standards that create consistency and trust across the business.
- Champion data quality and documentation practices that enable the broader team to build confidently on shared foundations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
- 5+ years of analytics experience spanning more than one domain (product, ops, finance, logistics, etc.)
- Strong SQL skills — you can wrangle messy data independently and don't wait for a data engineer to unblock you
- Experience building dashboards and self-serve reporting (Sigma, Looker, Tableau, or similar); you have opinions about what makes a visualization work for an executive audience and aren't shy about saying so
- Proven ability to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders, including executives — you tell a story, not just report numbers
- Experience with subscription business models — MRR, churn, retention, LTV — and comfort navigating the edge cases that come with subscription data
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity — you can scope your own work and push projects forward without heavy direction
- Experience at a small or scaling company; you know how to do more with less
- Prior people management or mentorship experience, or a clear readiness to step into that role
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with mobile app analytics or product instrumentation
- Experience with subscription or e-commerce business models, including payment platforms (Stripe or similar)
- Exposure to data pipeline or warehouse tooling (dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake, etc.)
